This is my first review! I am on chapter 6 and just want to say that this is a fun book to read

This book was great it made me laugh out loud and want to know more about chelsea and her crazy family.

So I was taking a 13hour flight to Australia, and decided I'd pick up some reading material. I love Chelsea on "girls behaving badly" and so I bought her book. After I paid, I noticed that I had spent $26 dollars on it - the most I'd paid for a book up to this point was 7.99. I thought about turning around and returning it, but I didn't. And I am soo glad! I was literally laughing until I was crying in the airport. everyone was staring at me doubled over with giggles. The guy next to me asked me if he could read it after me, since it looked like I was having a such a good time.
Still, to this day, I laugh when I think about some of the experiences Chelsea writes about. She is hilarious. This book is worth every penny! :)

My Horizontal Life is funnier, the stories are more hilarious, but this book is also a good one to laugh out loud at!

nice book, but not quite as in depth as i thought it would be. the writing's a bit weak, but a fun beach read!

When I read this book, I couldn't help but laugh out loud! Chelsea Handler is hilarious and her other book, "My Horizontal Life" is just as good! I can't wait to see more from her.

I read her first book. Not a huge fan of her show, I'm a guy and I'm not in the target market, but she's funny there and funny in the first book and funny here too.

Damn near every single word is funny. I read the whole thing in one day. Couldn't put it down.

I have always liked Chelsea Handler & her smart, yet tacky humor. I had had a couple of recommendations by friends to read this book. I hopped in the tub, picked it up & 80 pages later I was a prune! I couldn't put the book down, even when my fiance was ordering me to. He could hear me snorting from the other room. HILARIOUS! I told my fiance he has to read this book, and he is on his way. I'm now reading her first book & it's not as funny, but I love Chelsea. She is my new best friend.

I love Chelsea's show so I knew I would love her books, both of them are absolutely laugh out loud funny! She is such a natural comedienne! Get these books you will not be sorry!

A friend recommended this book and said he couldn't put it down. I bought it, but couldn't find the time to start it. I had a free moment one evening and that was all it took. I finished the book the very next day. It was too funny to put down. Now half the people I know have read it and we are constantly reminding each other about the funny parts. LOVED it.

I loved this book - it was LOL funny! This is a great lighthearted read. I don't recommend this book if you can't handle some crude humor or foul language, however. But if you are a Chelsea Handler fan then I am sure you will enjoy this book. You may not be wiser when you finish, but you will surely be in good mood.

I am still in the process of reading this book - it's awesome! Chelsea is hilarious (as if there were any doubt) and her stories are wonderful. Glad to know I'm not the only one w/ a crazy childhood:)

I have not laughed out loud while reading in a long time. This book made me laugh out loud like a crazy person. I could not put it down, than I was sad when it was over. You will love this book.

Chelea's life has been really funny and great to read about. Good easy reading and humorours. Take on a trip for the plane or by the pool.

Cheslea holds nothing back and is so funny! I read both of her books this summer and loved them. Her stories are great and you will laugh out loud. I watch her show every day and love her sense of humor. We should all be like her and not care what other people think of us. Love this book!

I listened to the audiobook while recovering from Lasek Surgery and it was hilarious, especially the chapter about the Peekapoo!! The audiobook is good because she is narrating it, which makes it even funnier.

Love her and love both her books! I tune in to her tv show every week nite.. She is smart, beautiful, funny, confidant; I absolutely adore her!

I adore Chelsea Handler and her show on E! I bought the book in hopes that it would be as hilarious her TV show, but I was slightly dissapointed. The book is interesting, full of crazy stories, and definitely funny... just not "laugh out loud" funny like some of the reviews said, and like I expected from someone as funny as Chelsea Handler. I would still definitely recommend the book, and I still plan on buying "A Collection of One Night Stands". Bottom line - good book, but not great!

I can hardly be considered a prude. At 72 years old, and after a lifetime of oilfields and firefighting, I've heard and uttered my share of potty talk. But something about Chelsea Handler's extremely personal collection of memoirs, ARE YOU THERE, VODKA? IT'S ME, CHELSEA didn't sit well with me. I know. If you're going to be offended, don't read it.

But read it I did because I love funny stuff, especially humorous writing. Ms. Handler is very funny and some of her prose had me hiccupping from laughing so hard. I got uncomfortable, however, with some of the more graphic language, descriptions of sweaty sex, and references to anatomy that came from a public restroom wall instead of a medical book. I thought that a more subtle way of handling these subjects, perhaps through cleverly veiled and risqué double entendres, would be more easily endured than through whacks with a meat axe.

I think back to one of my favorite humorists, Dave Barry. He can paint the same word picture as Handler without using the coarse language so prevalent in this book. His ability to dodge around the use of obscenities makes his work even funnier when the reader associates what he wrote with what he meant.

I appreciate the fact that Handler makes her living through the shock factor. I'm sure her fans are used to the candor of her presentations. That's why I don't trash the book with a poor rating. My faint heartedness does not make the book a bad one - it only makes it hard for me to read. It doesn't mean that I don't recognize a talented individual and Handler is that in spades.

I bought this book because it was recommended in a magazine. I was very disappointed! I read the first chapter and, quite frankly, didn't find it very amusing. So then I skipped around a bit hoping some of the other chapters were better. Not so. Perhaps it's not my brand of humor but, despite what some critics have said, she is definitely not the NEW Erma Bombeck!

Bottom line: I found her book mostly crass, crude humor and some parts were downright disgusting.

Definitely don't recommend!

I listened to the audiobook and laughed the whole time. She reads the book which makes it even funnier. I listened to it in my car commuting to work and back and I'm sure the other drives thought I was crazy. I would recommend her book if you want a real good laugh.

Very funny but didn't enjoy the language. Not a prude but wow, it was excessive for me. She does have the gift of comedy, though.

I am still reading this book. But so far it is pretty fantastic. I am actually reading it with the audio book. And on the audio book Chelsea Handler reads it her self and since it is her book she adds a little to it. So it is not the same as what you are reading but it makes it funnier. Yes I read along with the audio book.

Chelsea is absolutely hilarious. She really captures the funny moments of everyday life that most of us experience, but just don't write about. Great read.

I love Chelsea Handler and this book did not disappoint. It was hilarious...you will laugh out loud at her stories! If you haven't read it, you should...and if you haven't read "My Horizontal Life...A Collection of One Night Stands" you should read that too. She's not afraid to admit what you're thinking!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this book! It literally made me LAUGH OUT LOUD! I didnt want to read it too fast because then it would be over so soon. She is freakin hilarious. All her stories made me crack up. And what made it even funnier is that I can actually picture her doing this stuff! By far the funniest book I've ever read!!!

This book is hilarious, and whoever does think so has problems....I would reccomend reading this book especially if you live in LA, i relate with about every experience in this book.

I am a big fan of Chelsea Handler. I finished reading this book very quickly because it is so funny! I would actually laugh out loud while reading it in the lunch room at work. I have reccomended this book to many friends. I picked up her first book on a whim in the bookstore in college, read it, and passed it around to at least 10 people... I'd give that one five stars.

I read this book on the beach. I was laughing so hard, and often, that a complete stranger came up to me and asked me if it was a good book. Of course I told her to buy it! It's blunt and hysterical. Great, quick read! There were sections in the book where I was laughing so hard that I was tearing up. Now I have to read Chelsea's first book.

We have been fans of Miss Handler's are regularly watch her show. I bought this for my husband for his birthday, and he loved it. I read it myself in about 3 1/2 hours one day, because I couldn't put it down. You are sucked into her wacky life and want to know what could possibly happen next.

Chelsea has a unique personality and humor that does not appeal to everyone. I happen to enjoy her wit. My wife thinks she gets carried away with her potty mouth. I enjoy her TV show. If you like Chelsea, you'll like the book.

I rarely laugh out loud when reading a book and this book had me laughing out loud at least 5 times, and smiling many many others. She's a bit raunchy, but that doesn't offend me at all. My only criticism was the chapter when her and her friends went to get a massage... I think she probably could have left that out of the book. I didn't find it funny. It wasn't offensive or anything, but it was just sort of a boring chapter compared to the others. Otherwise I liked this book so much I ran out and bought her first book. She is also a surprisingly good writer. highly recommended.

This book was just as good if not better than Chelsea's first book. I absolutely love reading her material and look forward to watching her show all the time! Her humor is often what helps me stomach this crazy life. It's nice to know there are people out there with lives crazier than mine that are actually experiencing success from such absurd experiences. I love Chelsea and hope she continues to write and along the way receives many blessings of increased prosperity, popularity and success. To make others laugh and smile is a gift.

Once I started reading this book, I couldn't put it down. The author is blessed with a cynical humor that had me laughing out loud multiple times throughout the book. The story moves along at a great pace and I highly recommend it as a fun summer read. I just wish her other book, My Horizontal Life, was available on the Kindle. Try this book though, you won't be disappointed. Get ready to laugh!!!

I watch Chelsea on E late night and she is hilarious. When I saw the book I knew I had to have it. I read this book in three days. Since then both of my sisters and my mom have read it. All of us laughed out loud. It is just so funny. She is a most humorous story teller.

I didn't even know who Chelsea Handler was and I thought her book was hilarious!! I finished it in 2 days without even trying. Great humor for forty-something women who are not afraid of admitting all of the stupid, funny, embarrassing things that have happened in life and have friends that accept you for just that. I praise her honesty.

I watch Handler's show from time to time, and I find her to be funny and entertaining, which is why I bought this book. I unfortunately I found it to be neither.

She's all over the place, skipping around, throwing out random scenarios, with nothing to tie them together. And then the book ends just as randomly.

It seemed like she was trying to hard too be funny. The situations should be funny, but the writing is just so poor, and the stories are just plain wierd. They have the feel of not-quite-fiction but not-quite-fact. It's not that I was offended by her humor, or crassness, I just don't think she pulled it off the jokes in this book. Its poorly delivered.

Please keep in mind, I was not looking for fine literature or well-developed prose. I just wanted some cheap laughs. I might have laughed twice.

I am honeslty surprised someone published this book.
Save your money, don't buy it.

This book had some definitely funny parts, but more often than not, it was just "okay".

This is one of the funniest, if not the funniest books I have read in years. I literally read it in a day. I had to stop myself and go do something else to make the book "last longer". Chelsea has a way of writing that makes you feel like she's a good friend sitting there telling you a story over a nice glass of vodka.

In a world of chaos, this book provides fabulous comic relief. I don't watch Chelsea's show and this was the first book I read that she wrote. I actually fell of the couch reading it. I am passing it along to each of my friends so that they can enjoy Chelsea's witty writing. I loved it so much, I went out immediately and purchased Chelsea's other book! I have read the first chapter and it is equally as funny as Are YOU THERE, Vodka. If you have the extra $15 do not pass up the opportunity to buy and read this book.....

Very funny. I literally laughed out loud reading this book. Chelsea writes as if you're watching her do standup. It's a great book.

This book is full of GREAT laughs! I didn't want to stop reading until I finished the entire book. I laughed out loud FREQUENTLY while reading! I enjoyed so much that I purchased Chelsea's first book that she wrote.
