Very concise and easy to read. The necessary basics are perfectly illustrated so you can get off to a fast start even if you have never tied a knot in your life. The boys constantly remind you of the dangers involved and the lovely smiling models show you this is a fun art to be enjoyed by both parties. This is the first book everyone should buy who is interested in a knotty hobby.

Most people I have talked to all say why buy the book when you can watch all the videos on youtube? Well number reason I would say buy it. It shows all the actual knots! Not just the whole thing. It goes step by step showing you the basics knots used in most all bondages. Good detail. It helped me out on the ones I was having troubles with on the videos. If you are a big fan of there videos you really should buy the book. Not only to help them out but its a must read for the extras you will never see in the book. I will buy book 2 when released.

I've long been a fan of the Two Knotty Boys style and was excited to have purchased this book when it came out. It is very easy to understand and follow the instructions and photos. Some feel the black/white photos should have been colour, but I don't believe that it would have made much of a difference. All of the photos are clear and easy to see what is going on. The ties are fun and beautiful, which is my type of rope art. I personally believe this is one of my essential quick reference books in my (rope) collection.

Clear instructions, many step-by-step photos, several very pretty designs. For the price, I would say the best rope bondage book on the market for beginners.

For the more 'advanced' rope people out there, it might not be enough for you, but still well worth the money (especially if you get it on sale).

I laughed a lot reading this book and enjoyed the techniques they teach. I practiced the knots and mastered them pretty quickly. Some of them are pretty difficult too, but they did well breaking down the steps. You have to try the "dragonfly sleeve". It is beautiful, cool, and effective. I have another book on Japanese rope bondage by Midori and it was also good. The two books compliment each other well.

I saw the knotty boys in action while they were out here in Los Angeles shooting their second book (which I will be purchasing as soon as it comes out). I was so impressed by their work and the beauty of the art that I felt compelled to take up the craft.

Buying the Knotty Boys' book has changed my life. The images used to depict the knots are easy to follow for even the clumsiest of hands. After only a month with this book my fingers are nimbly tying the knots and creating ornate harnesses.

If you only by one book to learn the erotic art of rope tying, this is it!

I found it to be a very informative and helpfull book. The only complaint I have is that I wish it were longer.

Book is very clear in presenting knots and tyings. I would have preferred color pictures but these b&w ones work fine. Quality of pictures is good.
I'm waiting for next book from TKB.

This is a pretty good book, as most of the other reviews testify to. The pictures and text combined mean that readers actually can reproduce the same knots and ties. It is perfect for bedside practice. The basic ties are the most useful, but many of the more complex ties are good too. The safety tips are excellent, as is the section on how to keep your rope (although I thought their assessment of cotton clothesline was a bit harsh). There were only a few small things I didn't like about the book:
1. I would like to give this book to a White male friend (who wants to be tied up) but I dare not because in this book there are no White (or Black) male "bottoms" - because of this I fear he would feel insulted. I wish they had used more male bottoms;
2. The models/bottoms/tie-ees have pretty great bodies and I have to say I felt no pleasure at my husband's ability to tie me up in the same way as in the book (for one of the ties) because I felt the model looked so much better than me. If any guys get this and intend to tie up their wives or girlfriends I strongly suggest they do not let them see how the finished tie "should" look. Feeling second rate and unsexy (compared to the sexy tied up model) is definitely not a good way to go about having a good time. Another tip - if you need the light to see what you're doing make sure the tie-ee is blindfolded, as bright lights are a massive turn off for many (women).

I bought this book to help my wife get over her fear of being bound and placed into small areas during the act of lovemaking and when I tire of her blather. After using the methods described in the text, I ended up lashing her to my work desk with burlap twine, but one end of the twine ended up getting caught up in the ceiling fan and she was thrown clear across the room. This tipped over my work desk and spilled some very important papers concerning my World of Warcraft guild resources all over the floor. It took my wife hours to sort through the papers, and with a dislocated arm to boot.

Obviously I'm not a very happy camper right now and I think we'll stick to our rubber hats, ear funnels, and pudding slaps.

Lots of good step by step info.... I got a few tips and a new quick and simple few twists of a rope to bind a limb trick..... just from thumbing thru it when it arrived.

Yes, there is no info within about suspension bondage, but it's still a great book overall. Suggestions on materials, lengths needed, and yes, safety...it's all here. Beautifully done!

This is the single most useful book on rope bondage that I have found so far. The step by step illustrations are easy to follow, the writing manages to get in to the technical aspects of rope play and knots without reading like stereo instructions, and unlike any other book I have thus far encountered it actually includes the recommended lengths and thickness for the ropes involved in each tie.

I have and do recommend this book to all of my friends who have the inkling to become riggers, or just want to try it out.

This was a great book for the beginner. It shows several different styles, and it starts with basic knot tying, all the way up to the more advanced decorative bondage! I would recommend this book to anyone.

Very fancy ropework adn the pictures really show you how to do it simply. I read many other rope books adn they dont have photos in them so your trying to discern how to do it through words alone. very difficult to do. I hightly recommend this book from the beginner to the advanced. IT has some really wonderful erotic bondage in it. very pretty stuff.

I have bought other books on the subject and they are hard to follow or are just about tying someone up, I learned how to do that in the boy scouts (I mean basic knot tying and lashing and stuff....you know... the scoutmaster wasn't like that). This book is the best because it covers not only how to tie someone up to be restrictive but to make it look beautiful as well. The writers have not forgotten that bondage is a art form as well as sexual practice. BUY THIS BOOK!! You will thank yourself later.

After looking at the description we decided we wanted to try some of the knots. Upon receipt of the book we were delighted. Knots are easy to do so long as you have enough rope and can be quite decorative. I love wearing the sleeve knots out in public. They are so comfortable and a great conversation starter.

This book was a real help in trying to figure out what new things to try and what wouldn't get us injured. Excellent all around, people complain about it not having color pictures but it doesn't really matter.

The book went beyond my expectations. For the price I expected a book that was short on content and usable information. True, this book doesn't have a lot of pages, but boy it sure is packed full of useful bondage techniques. This is the best book I've found on rope bondage period.
Most books I've found on the subject show few techniques and use too many words to explain them. I was surprised that after learning many of the knots and ties from this book, how quick, easy and beautiful my rope bondage became. The photos and instructions are very easy to follow, and even the most difficult ties become easy after a few practice sessions. Defiantly worth picking up.

If you only want to buy two books on rope bondage, then buy this one and Jay Wiseman's Erotic Bondage Handbook.

this book is good for beginners that are just starting in knot bondage

This is the BEST bondage book I have ever owned and I own several!!! If you like bondage whether you are new or experienced this is a great buy!

After only having gone thru the book once or twice, I can say it's well worth the money. More color photo's would have been nice, but not a deal killer.

There were a few typo's, like saying clockwise and meaning counter-clockwise, but otherwise there is good information to be had. I'm skipping over the decorative knots myself (spending all my time as a rope-person telling newbies that you DON'T need to know many knots), but I can already see some good ties that I wasn't already using.

This is a very good book. It shows how to do quite a few knots and ties. There are a ton of very clear pictures (though they are all in black and white) and the step-by-step instructions are very clearly explained. My only peeve with this book is there isnt anything on suspension bondage.

I have read several books but this was the most fun, and enjoyable. I also found the instruction very easy to follow, even on the more difficult of knots.
I have spent more money on books that didn't have as much information, or easy to follow.

It's worth a 5 but i gave it a 4, due to the book being in black and white. It very interesting, with easy to use directions, a good book to "jump right in" with. It will really get the juices flowing.

If you are looking for a great introduction to the basics that is fun to read and easy to get into, get this book.

The first time I watched the Knotty Boys I knew that what I had just witnessed was two of the modern day masters, they combine their skills into something that is truely amazing. In their book they give you some basic to intermediate skills but the beauty in which they show you how to do it is remarkable. I got this book and read it cover to cover in just an hour or two and spent the rest of my evening practicing their exquisit knots and ties. Can't wait untill they release a new book showing some of their more advanced techniques.

This is the book I was looking for... only downside was the black and white photos versus color. Beyond that it was s super book for learning some of the decorative *and* useful ;) bondage methods. Had purchased several other books to learn the basics but while the results were functional, they were pretty.

This book is basic enough that you don't have to be super advanced. Lots of steps-by-step pictures and solid instructions. Wish I had found this early. Between this book and Chanta Rose's book, you cover all bases for good solid functional and pretty bondage!

At last, the Two Knotty Boys have given us the book that will allow people to easily understand how to safely incorporate rope bondage into erotic fun. Granted there have been other texts published on erotic bondage, some have been better than others, but none had all of the elements needed. The "boys" got it right.

If you are in the least bit interested in rope bondage, you must get this book. Look at the price, it's a steal. I actually feel bad about paying such a low cost for such a valuable asset. At $16.95 the 37 step by step techniques comes out to .46cents per tie. You'll look great as you tie them and the knots are fantastic looking. Oh, and the person tied will be comfortable, safe, and helpless. What more could we ask for.

The "boys" have a perfect background, a industrial rigger, a climber, both backgrounds require safety as the basis for everything. The both love bondage and have taught many, many classes. This means they have learned how to teach the techniques to hundreds of others. It shows in the layout of the book. Simple step by step photos that match the written instructions. No matter what the level of the reader, this book will make you better.

Don't wait, get this book now. You will not be disappointed. If there was an award for BDSM books, this would win book of the year.

I recently purchased a pre-release copy of this book at a club event in San Francisco. It's amazing! Thirty seven ties I've not seen in any of the other books, all laid out in a series of step-by-step photo illustrations. No tiresome stories about themselves or their craft, just one solid easy to follow tie after another. I've only had the book for a little over two weeks and I already feel like a pro. This is by far the best bondage instruction book on the market!
