Drew is a fireman who loves the rush of his job, and is looking for a roommate to share costs. Scott is a doctor looking for somewhere to live that doesn't leave him rooming with his now ex-lover. The match seems more than perfect when Scott moves in with Drew. It's more than just costs that they share. They find it hard to resist getting to know each other in the most intimate way, and soon things are heating up enough to make even Drew wonder if they can handle the fire. So what happens when along comes EMT Eric with his blond good looks and boyish smile? He seems like the perfect match for Drew and Scott, but just Eric moving in is not all they have to deal with. Will this twosome be able to become a threesome or does it spell disaster for all? 911 is full of everything you'd expect from this author; strongly drawn characters, vulnerable sometimes, but never weak, sizzling-hot sex and fascinating exploration of an unconventional, deeply loving relationship.

This is one of hottest manlove books I've ever read. And it's not just M/M. It's M/M/M. Yes, *three* sexy men in love, having sheet-scorching sex...not to mention a sweet, tender, and surprisingly believable three-way relationship. A fireman, a doctor, and an EMT. It just doesn't get any hotter than that. When you do read it, make sure you have a bucket of ice and a change of clothes handy. Better yet, find your own sexy fireman or doctor to play with. :)
Okay, enough about the sex. The sex is insanely hot, but what really stands out to me is the chemistry and the realistic presentation of a working threesome of men. It's rare for an author to be able to write a love story between three men that's not just erotic, but actually believable. This story makes me believe that such a relationship is entirely possible. The men...ohhh, the men...they are strong, sexy, sensitive, and completely wonderful. I just can't find a negative word to describe this book or its characters. I will definitely read this one again. I am a fan of Chris Owen, so I could not wait to read 911. However, the addition of Eric to principle players (Drew and Scott) did not sit well with me. Chris did such a wonderful job in establishing the Drew (hot fireboy) and Scott (cute doctor) love story, that Eric's (sexy blond) addition seemed to take away from Drew and Scott. In fact, it seemed to become the Eric and Drew story, which made me sad. It wasn't until Drew was badly injured, that Scott's importance to Drew (and Eric) was acknowledged.
I'm not a prude, and have no issues with three-somes. However, I do feel that principle players need to be remembered. Author Sean Michaels is good in remembering principle players (Rock and Rig), even though they opened their hearts and home to a third ("Pretty", as he is called by Rig). Maybe the author was trying to portray that Drew, Scott, and Eric all loved equally, and I just didn't get it. I gave the book 4 stars because of the set-up love story of Drew and Scott, but will be cautious of other three-somes by Chris. (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-09-07 03:41:29 EST)

There is a reason many cultures and religions use the number three to represent totality, balance, harmony. Chris Owen has written another powerful book in "911". As someone who has always believed strongly in polyamory, as a fundamental way to share the joy and strength that comes from truly loving, I found this story delightful and affirming. Each character grows throughout the book, opens up to the others to expose his own weaknesses, and learns to accept the unconditional love that still demands honesty. The end of the book seems rather rushed, but it also makes sense that the three men can actually tackle their final mutual challenge together, and quickly.
Unfortunately, Torquere Press seems to have a quality assurance problem. There are numerous typographical errors and even character slip-ups, which a careful editor or proofreader should have caught. So, the publishing knocks one star off - but Chris delivers a great read! Thanks again! (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-01-02 20:37:23 EST)
